John F. Donovan

John F. Donovan, "Dunny" to his friends and family, of Derry, NH, passed away after his battle with cancer on February 11, 2026 at the age of 62.

John was born in Amesbury, MA, on February 14, 1963, and was one of 5 children. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert F. and Marion T. Donovan, as well as his brother Peter G. Donovan.

John leaves behind his loving partner, Debra Beaulieu of Derry, NH, his siblings: Theresa Donovan and her husband Adalberto Rodriguez; Cheryl Donovan, and Steven Donovan; his nieces and nephews, Heather Tzortzakis, Crystal Wheeler, Robert Rodriguez, Maya Rodriguez, and Alexander Rodriguez as well as numerous and very dear grand nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

John was known for his love of golf and was a member of the Exeter Country Club for 25 years. He enjoyed traveling, taking walks, and the outdoors. He was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots.

John graduated from Whittier Technical High School in Amesbury, MA, and began his career in the trades, first as a carpenter and then in heating and air conditioning. He opened his own business, Donovan Heating and A/C, in 1995. He genuinely loved his work and took pride in his business.

He had many good friends on and off the golf course and his business allowed him to meet many good people and form many more friendships. He was always willing to help a friend or family member, and he embodied the spirit of salt of the earth! He was deeply loved by many friends, family, and business associates. We will truly miss John's intelligence, wit, and generosity.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter NH 03833, from 11am to 1pm, followed by a service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Exeter Cancer Center and selecting "Oncology General Fund" under the tab "Direct my gift to:".
