Sylvia Lind Obituary

Sylvia J. Lind

Sylvia J. Lind, age 91, of Stevens Point, died March 4, 2013.

Sylvia was born on November 8, 1921 to the late Elmer & Mary (Simonds) Topping in Plover, WI. She grew up in Plover and attended the local school.

She married Carl Lind July 19, 1941 at Buena Vista United Methodist Church in Amherst, WI.

In her earlier years, Sylvia assisted local families with domestic care. She later became employed with Tucker Photography. After her marriage, Sylvia dedicated her life to her family. As her children grew, she decided to go back to work. Sylvia started work at SEARS Roebuck retail and catalog before becoming employed as an office clerk with the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. She worked there until retiring.

Sylvia will be remembered for her loving and accommodating nature. Her family was the most important thing to her, giving them her unconditional love. Sylvia loved to travel and taking family trips. She also enjoyed staying active physically as well as mentally. In her spare time she enjoyed being active with a bowling league, golfing, taking care of her yard, walking, and playing cards. She was considered to be an excellent baker; her pies and bread were second to none. In her later years, she enjoyed bird watching and playing Sudoku.

Survivors include her children, Carole Lind of Stevens Point, Richard (Iris) Lind of Wausau, Eric (Leslie) Lind of Thomasville, AL; grandchildren, Michael Lind of Madison, David (Jessica) Lind of Wausau, Carl Cappotto of Stevens Point; great-grandchildren, Jack and Elizabeth; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.

A Funeral Service, commemorating her life, will be held 10:00 am Friday, March 8, 2013 at Boston Funeral Home, with Rev. Steven Olson officiating. A time of sharing memories will be held on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

To Richard & Carole I think back to the old neighborhood and all the good memories we have. I remember your mom being a very kind and caring person. Now is the time to hold all the good memories in your heart. Ray Mansavage
