Tom was always a good guy and always a wonderful friend to me and to the School of Communicative Disorders at UWSP. Tom never once had a bad word for anybody.

Dr. McCaig had a huge influence on my life and he even called the school I ended up teaching at to set up an interview there. He was an inspiration to everyone in the classes I took with him. He taught me how to be an attentive, caring and prepared teacher, and how to live a dedicated life.
I will never miss him as he will be with me forever and after I'm gone his life lessons will live on in those I taught.
Even though I live elsewhere now, I will put the town I taught in for 33 years.

To the Family and Friends of Dr. McCaig,
I had the good fortune of having Dr. McCaig as a teacher in 70's and as my Masters advisor in the 80's. How lucky was I? He was the most patient, caring, and understanding man/teacher I ever had. His compassion for his job and students was above all. Dr. McCaig was inspiration for me. He helped me to become the teacher I wanted to be...You will be missed Dr. McCaig. My sympathy to all of your family and friends.

I will miss walking in the door yelling "LUCY IM HOME" and seeing the huge smile on your face. The rides we had were joys and you always made me laugh. I really wish I had brought the twins to meet you. You will be missed dearly, may you rest in peace dear friend!

Dear friends and loved ones,
My deepest condolences to all. Although I only knew Dr. McCaig for the past year I will miss his kind nature, sharp wit, and sense of humor even though I knew he was in incredible pain. He courageously and cheerfully lived with his illness and made sure that people who cared for him knew how much he cared for them. I was out of the country when he passed so I didn't have the chance to say goodbye and thank him...rest well dear soul.
