We have never met....but my grandfather worked with your family (Emmett,Bob, Ken, and Dan) at National Cover. I attended Bob's funeral as a very small child. Gerri stayed in touch for many years, and I was sorry to see that she has passed, but at peace that she has been reunited with Bob who has been gone from this earth so many years. My sympathies as you struggle with the loss of your uncle, cousin and friend. Lean on the Lord for strength as the pain and sorrow fill these early days. Let happy memories fill the void of his absence.

Do not stand by my grave & weep, I am not there I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am a diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awake in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circling flight, I am the soft star shining at night. Do not stand by my grave & cry, I am not there I did not die... R.I.P Dave, you will be missed by many but never forgotten.

I have very fond memories of visiting Uncle Dave's apartment when I was a kid. My mom would take us over there on weekend night's, while they had drinks and conversed. I used to love looking at all the cool dark stuff he kept, like the old monster trading cards, and sculptures he did of various weird creatures. Not to mention all the half naked pictures of women hanging everywhere! As I got older, I really enjoyed going over to his other apartment to hang out with my mother and him, and whomever else would partake. I came to find that we had very similar tastes, whether it be music and art, or WWII stuff. My Uncle Dave had such a pure heart, and I didn't ever hear him say an unkind word about anyone. He was adored by all that knew him, and his presence will be missed as such. So here's to you, Uncle Dave...cheers!

Dave was my friend and Christian brother. 42 years of very good memories, one of the most pure hearted and giving individuals I have had the good fortune to know. When he did'nt have a nickel to his name he would share his only morsel of food or last beer with you. My heart felt condolences to Tom, Cheryl, and the rest of the Duebelbeis family. Dean Reichold

20 plus years I got to know Dave and I have to say, he was without a doubt, the one friend I hung on to thru it all. Most of the time, one finds that some one wasn't who you thought they were or, did some crap you'd later not trip on, but Dave was the friend I always went to in order to vent frustration with who ever did me wrong. He had a similar story to share, or he'd let me know it maybe wasn't as big of a deal and "have a beer and 'take a load off!'" I sure didn't expect it to be such a short time we'd have him with us. Dave would let me play some of the heaviest of metal music and would gimme some crap, if I cut the song, halfway done. I'd say "but Dave, the next songs' better... or whatever" and he would say how it irritated him to not hear the songs finish, even if it was something he didn't really like just 'cause maybe he would start liking it, just when i cut the track. So from then on, I would ask, just one of the many little things you don't think much about 'til you lose some one as dynamic as Dave. I remember some trippy glass eye sculptures he made for me (sure wish I still had one), he truly had an artistic quality not found in many! And his musical diversity; from folk to metal as long as it didn't come near rap, or especially "that damn disco my little sister likes!" It's kinda funny, he would sit through it for Cheryl, but he'd sure talk to me about it the whole time! God Bless You David, and you had the badest Hog of all my friends! I will never forget you, nor will the many people you may not have even known you touched; me deeply!

the best artist I've ever seen! I remember as a kid how cool I thought he was, and I grew to admire him even more as an adult. He had my back at a time when I was in need, and I wish I couldve thanked him for that. He will forever live in my heart through some of the artwork etched in my mind, like the portrait of charlie manson, or the diner scene with the greaser, after what seemed to be a brawl had taken place, and my favorite was the portrait he did of my mother. I would argue that david had the talent, and skill, that couldve been considered modern masterpieces of our time. You could see that he put a lot of himself into his work, and that is something I will always remember of my uncle dave. The passion he always kept for what he enjoyed in life. I'll miss him very much, but I know he is in a better place.

He was more than a brother to me. He was my best friend. Saturday nights at Day-Day's listening to his vast music collection. He always surprised me when he'd whip out something else from years ago. I loved him so very much. I don't know what life will be like or Saturdays at the very least without you. What a beautiful heart and soul you had David. No one will EVER compare.

David was one of my very first friends in life! He was funny, clever, kind, creative and even as a young boy, did wonderful drawings--especially Big Daddy Roth! My deepest condolences to Cheryl and the family. Always,
