David Hampe Obituary

Hampe, David L. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 8, 2016. David is survived by his siblings Carla, Julie (Garry), Dan (Leslie), Tom, and Sally, and sisters-in-law Connie and Cheryl. David was uncle to George (Leisa), Heather (Lawrence), Tom (Christine), Melissa (John), Alissa, and Nick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Carl, and brothers George and Stephen. David was a graduate of Webster Groves High School and was a lifelong resident of the St. Louis area. In recent years David became involved in several charitable organizations and was always quick to be there for his neighbors and friends. One of David's greatest joys was the time he spent with his great-nieces and nephews. A Mass and event of remembrance will be held at a future date.

I worked with Dave back in the late 90s. He and I had many lunches together at work until I left for another job. I wondered about him for many, many years. I am very sorry to hear about his passing.

David was truly a good man. He was kind and thoughtful and gave freely of his time to others. He will be missed by all of us who knew him.
