For at least the past 10 years Aunt Gerry would call me to wish me Happy Birthday, prior to that she would send me a birthday card. The last couple of years she would be off by one day or so. I never corrected her because she was only off by one day usually. Prior to that, she knew every year the day was March 8. I'm going to miss that phone call from Aunt Gerry. She was special, that's for sure. She was my dad's last living sibling. He died, also in January, four years ago. I'm sure they are glad to see each other after having quite a few years gone by without seeing each other. Now Aunt Gerry is up there with Grandma Wilson, Grandpappy Wilson, Uncle Buddy Wilson, Aunt Jeanne Wilson Cunningham and my dad, Bob Wilson and all the other Wilson relatives who went to the heavens above before her. I'll miss you, Aunt Gerry, and I remember the last thing I said to you in October, when I was leaving Bridgeton to see her and Dianne and Melinda, I said "Aunt Gerry, I love you."

Dear Diane and Melinda, I was sorry to hear that Gerry had passed but what a long life she had! Gerry was truly a light into the world. Her spirit was so vibrant and loving. My mother and our family enjoyed her so much. Having lunch after church was a highlight of Mom's week for years. I'm hoping they have a chance to continue their friendship in the great beyond. You all had a wonderful connection with your mom and from my own experience I know she will be greatly missed. I send you thoughts of comfort and love,
Barbara

Dear Dianne and Melinda: I have spent so many phone conversations and even a few visits with your gregarious and sparkley Mom, over many years. I loved her, too. I am a member of the Rottman family, my dad built her house and we lived there for a few years and where she lived in for so many years after we moved away. I have been thinking of her a lot In last few weeks, and I suppose the universe was sending me a message. She will be so missed.

What I remember most of Gerry is how genuine she was. Her smile, her sense of humor, her laugh. God blessed her with 99.8 years on Earth, and she made the most of it doing what was important to her. Generously supporting her family, loving her husband, children and grandchildren, cultivating her many friendships. Gerry powered though so many adversities in her life, but God also blessed her with an endlessly flowing well faith, and optimism. Gerry left us with so many examples of her strength and good nature. If we all would choose but a few these, and endeavor apply them to our own lives, what a glorious future we would have on our hands!
Thank you Gerry.
Salute! To a life well lived.
