John Rick Obituary
June 15, 1941 - April 4, 2025
John Williamson Rick III was born in St. Louis, MO to John and Arlene Rick. He attended St. Gabriel, SLUH, Washington U. and Yale Divinity School before becoming an Episcopal priest. John is survived by his sister, Barbara Nacrelli; his nephews, Anthony, Michael, and Daniel Nacrelli; and his grand nephews, James and David Nacrelli. A memorial service will be held at St. Michael and St. George Episcopal Church at 6345 Wydown Blvd. at noon on Saturday May 17. Father John dedicated his life to service - not just in word, but in action. His passion for supporting children was unwavering, and he believed deeply in creating opportunities for every family to thrive, regardless of background or circumstance. Whether through education, mentorship, or simply a kind word, he reminded us all of the power of compassion and the importance of lifting one another up.
He loved St. Louis fiercely and worked tirelessly to make it a better, more just place for all who call it home. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the families he uplifted, and the hope he instilled in the hearts of so many.

John was truly a nice individual. I had the pleasure of working with John at Confluence Academies. He was so passionate about making the world a better place and providing more opportunities for city students. I can recall many conversations with John where he would be so on-fire for his cause that I would see his extreme emotion and know how deep his feelings were. I will miss his smile and his kindness.
