Peters, Deacon Louis, Ed.D.

Deacon Peters was predeceased by his parents Sam (Naseem) Peters and Virginia (Savio) Peters and his brother Edward Peters. Loving cousin of William F. (Marty) Peters, William J. Peters, Rochelle (Jack) Linhares, Joyce (Bob) Herleth, Jan (Keith) Halloran, and Steve (Anne) Savio.
Louis attended St. Cecilia's elementary school, St. Mary's High School, and graduated from UMSL. He served in the United States Air Force with the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Following his honorable discharge, he received his Master's degree from the University of Arkansas and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from St. Louis University. He taught and was principal of Assumption Elementary School followed by 18 years as Director of Personnel in the Catholic Education Office of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. For the last 14 years of his career as an educator he taught and was principal of Chaminade College Preparatory School.
Louis was an ordained deacon serving the Maronite Church of St. Louis. He was appointed Director of the Office of Ministry and then Director of the Office of Religious Education for the Maronite Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles. In 2013 he was appointed the Chancellor of the Eparchy by Bishop A. Elias Zaidan until his retirement in 2020.
Louis will be missed by his family, friends and members of St. Raymond Cathedral and St. Raymond-St. Elizabeth Church.

Services: Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Kutis Affton Chapel. Prayer service begins at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, September 22, at Kutis Affton Chapel followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Raymond Maronite Cathedral, 931 Lebanon Drive, St. Louis, MO. 63104.

Deacon Lou will be greatly missed. I took a Bible study class at St. Elizabeth´s with Deacon Lou at the helm, and I was blown away by his knowledge of the Word. May he Rest In Peace.
