I would like to share the story of a young freshman electrical engineer that met Mr. Kline, my advisor, for the first time. You are not a superstar he said, true but somewhat disheartening given my curiosity and stated interests in engineering and medicine. Nevertheless, M. Kline noticed my intermittent focus on one of his books, a volume from seemingly another time. I left that appointment with M. Kline's copy of the seminal Computers and Thought (1963), a book that contributed to shape my early career and an area in which I'm currently investing my time and efforts. I still have my copy on the shelf devoted to my most significant titles. Opening the cover you can read "Raymond M. Kline, Department of Electrical Engineering". Thank you again M. Kline, may you rest in peace. My late condolences to M. Kline's family and friends.
