Ronald Jones Obituary

Jones, Ronald Lee

87, passed away May 2, 2023. Survived by two daughters; Carrie Boyd and Cindy Jones; Four grandchildren; Roland Boyd, Diadra Collins, Lydia Hermance and Barak Boyd and six great-grandchildren.

Ron was born in St. Louis and was an only child. He enlisted into the Army in 1958 and was based in Germany. He married Susan in 1960 and settled in Caseyville, Illinois, where they raised their two daughters. He worked at the Post-Dispatch as a machinist for 40 years. Ron moved to St. Genevieve, Missouri and married his second wife Mary Stewart, where he and Mary had a small candy shop. Ron retired shortly after Mary passed and focused on running the business with the help of Sue Mayer, an employee. Ron and Sue eventually moved from St Genevieve to South County in St. Louis, where they enjoyed many years of traveling and dining out at their favorite restaurants. Sue passed away in December 2023. Ron dearly missed her. Less than five months later Ron passed.

We look forward to seeing him in God's kingdom (Matthew 6:9&10), when God restores this earth to his original purpose of a beautiful paradise, with no sickness or death (Revelation 21:3&4). For now we know that he is just sleeping (1 Thessalonians 4:13) awaiting the time when Jesus awakens him.

Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
