Kermit East Obituary

Kermit Adam East, 59, of Sulphur, passed away on February 11, 2014 in Memorial Hermann Hospital. Kermit was "one of a kind" who always was making someone laugh. He was a truck driver and worked in the oil field and construction industries.
Kermit loved children, especially his grandchildren, and he, like most men, "owned" the remote control. He coached recreational baseball and enjoyed sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and the New Orleans Saints.
Kermit is survived by his wife, Susan East of Sulphur; son Justin East and wife, Kambi, of Sulphur; daughter Cassaundra East of Sulphur; his first wife, Cindy Wingate; step-daughter Brittney Cloud Hayes and husband, Keith, and step-son Justin Cloud, all of Beaumont; mother-in-law Joyce Schroeder; five grandchildren, Trace, Trenton, Tanner, Taylor and Layton; sisters Mary Lou Crawford and husband, George, Jackie Monceaux and husband, J.C., all of Sulphur, Virginia Raben of Alabama, Jinny Harringan of California, and Lena Metcalf and husband, Mike, of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Avillia and Lula Mae East, and brother, Curly "Frenchie" East.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014, 2 p.m., at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vince Guidry officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 3 p.m.-9 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home until time of the service.
