i am so sad to hear about this tragedy. i have lost siblings, in the same manner and truly know what you all are feeling. deepest condolences to your family in this time of bereavement. i lived next door to bill, pat and his parents for over 9 years. they were instrumental, in helping my children and i get out of town, right after the storm. i knew mimi casually and will miss her, with much fondness.

Scott and Laura,
Please know the Rimmers and Alexanders are mourning with you. There were many times in the last 6 months I had seen C.J. and he always took the time to show kindness and share a story. I remember him telling us about the day he was married-he lit up with happiness at the memory. I know they are together now.

Scott, Neil, and Casey,
Your family has been a part of my life since the beginning.... There is so much that is welled up right now - it's hard to state the true meaning of how much your parents meant to me. As godparents, they were always a part of my life - and always will! My profound sorrow at this moment in time can only be a small percentage of yours. Please know that my family will always be there for you. Aunt Mimi and Uncle C.J. will forever hold a special place in my heart.

A TRIBUTE TO MIMI MONTI HEITZMANN & CARL JOSEPH HEITZMANN
The ancient Greek, Aeschylus, wrote: “In our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart and in our despair, against our will comes wisdom through the awful (awe filled) grace of God.”
Everyone who has had the honor and privilege of knowing Mimi, C.J., and their family already knows what exceptional people they are. The bonds of love are complex and powerful; they transcend time and space and often defy reason. Our hearts ache as we try to comprehend this tragedy. Their absence in our daily lives will be hard to bare. We are all better people because they were a part of our lives – and they live on through all of us! We have an obligation to honor them through our every act and deed. Their hopes and dreams rest with us now…we will realize their dreams and fulfill their hopes.
WE THANK YOU FOR:
•Loving us all…and we loved you in return!
•Bringing joy and humor to every occasion!
•Touching the hearts of all the children…they love you!
•Special gifts: For my last birthday you gave me a sign that says LIVE WELL, LAUGH OFTEN, LOVE MUCH as well as a Cross Stitch Kit that(when completed)will say PUT YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES ON AND DEAL WITH IT! How PROFOUND IS THAT…… we have all been instructed by “MISS MIMI” TO PUT ON OUR BIG GIRL PANTIES AND DEAL WITH IT & to LIVE, LAUGH, AND LOVE……AND SO WE SHALL!
WE REMEMBER:
•Your giggle and laugher… and the twinkle in your eyes!
•All the adventures…from Mexico to Paris and everywhere in between! Living life to the fullest!
•You found strength in your faith!
•Your love of animals!
•THE GOOD TIMES AT THE GOOD LIFE!
•You riding your bike, dancing, laughing, singing, and doing the splits and cartwheels! JOY!
WE NOTICED THAT:
•Your laughter could light up a room and your sense of humor was a gift to all who knew you!
•You did the best you could to protect those you loved from pain, hurt, and harm!
•You loved Bay St.Louis – and Bay St. Louis loved you!
•Mimi loved music, dancing, writing, taking walks, gardening, playing with her children and grandchildren, her family - we all noticed and celebrate your spirit!
•C.J. loved hunting, building, Ole Miss Rebels, the Saints, and his family!
•Your children and grand children adored you both!
WE ARE GRATEFUL THAT:
•Mimi and C.J. truly loved each other. Love is like the truth: no matter how deep you bury it, it always comes to the surface!
•The love that Mary and T.F. Monti instilled in their children is going to carry them forward as they struggle to understand and continue on with their lives.
•You inspired us to LIVE WELL, LAUGH OFTEN, AND LOVE MUCH!
WE WILL ALWAYS:
•Keep the promises we made to you both…
•Love you and honor you…
•Protect, love, and care for your family…
•Remember you as our "North Star"..
•Recognize love, live love, and give love!
•Celebrate your lives and love!
•Cherish you…Miss you…Celebrate you!
LOVE ALWAYS,

I have known Mimi as an on-line friend for a few years. I will miss her humor, kindness and joy for life. I enjoyed talking to her and getting to know a little about her life. She let me read one of her books and on line and several stories and what a great story teller she was. Now Mimi is with God and will have peace forever. I will miss you Mimi...I will think of you often and miss you forever.

Dear Joe and Kathleen,
Al and I want you to know that you and your family are in our prayers. Mimi was the big sister I looked up to at St. Joseph Academy when I was in the 9th grade in 1966-1967. She was a true role model for a young woman-a class act! May Our Lord welcome her with loving open arms.

I have known Mimi through the internet and email for several years now and her warmth and love for life came through in everything she wrote to me directly and to others through the community in which we have been involved. Not least of all she showed us a love for her family and the community in which she lived, notably through the pain and heartache following Katrina.
My prayer is that she and C.J. will now be reunited in God's presence and glory. We will miss Mimi until the day God calls us home. There are no tears in heaven.

I will always remember Mimi as a warm, caring and supportive friend. I am so sorry not to have met her in person, only through online contact through our love of blues music and with her writings. She was so full of live and was never despondent in anything especially after the disaster of Katrina. Her presence was felt by everyone that came into contact with her.
My heartfelt condolences to her immediate family. Please be strong and remember the tears you have now will be replaced by wonderful memories.

My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the family of Mimi and Carl. I only "knew" Mimi from online, meeting through a mutual interest in both Eric Clapton and writing; however, her enthusiasm for life and spirit were apparent in every post she made online. She was, indeed, a special person, her love for her family, community and friends obvious. Know that her presence in our online groups will be missed. I think from now on when I hear "Tears in Heaven", she'll be another person I think of....
