Matthew York Obituary

Matthew Dylan York

January 2, 1985 - November 13, 2024

Biloxi, Mississippi - Matthew Dylan York, age 39, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at his home in Biloxi, MS. His unexpected departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Matthew is survived by his loving mother, Debra Lynn Bialy; his sisters Amber (York) Saujon, Crystal (York) Tuminia, Hannah Bialy, and Carol York; his brother Justin York; his brother in law Ron Saujon Jr, and his seven cherished daughters, Destiny York, Scarlett Russell, Starla Raye, Sicilia York, Mattilyn York, Kimberly Menna, and Charlotte White. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Lynn York.

Born in Tampa, FL, on January 2, 1985, Matthew moved with his family to Biloxi, MS, in 1990 when his father was assigned as Athletics Director at Keesler AFB. Matthew's childhood was defined by the beauty of the Gulf Coast, where he spent summers fishing, camping, hiking, and boating with a sense of adventure and appreciation for life. Under the guidance of his father, he became a skilled tradesman, a talent he would use throughout his life to provide for his family with pride and dedication. His mother nurtured a strong foundation of faith which instilled in him an unwavering kindness and a boundless capacity for empathy.Matthew and Amber shared some of the happiest years of their lives watching their children grow, learn, and experience life and love together.

Matthew's true passion, however, was his children. Above all else, his goal in life was to be able to love, support, and guide them. His vision of happiness was simple: to be there for his daughters and provide them with the love and security they deserved.

Known for his infectious energy and boundless optimism, Matthew was impossible to dislike. He brought light and hope to every room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His presence will be sorely missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue through the lives of those he touched.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Dickey Brothers Memorial Funeral Home in Biloxi, MS, to celebrate Matthew's life and honor his memory.

Matthew was such a great man. He loved his daughters immensely and talked about them all the time. He was always making me laugh and I always knew I was safe when we were together. I want him back every single day. I know how he loved and cared for me so I can only imagine how he loved you all. I can't imagine what his family is going through but I know we'll all see his beautiful smile again one day and I look forward to that day. I'll love u forever Matthew and you know this! To his family, I'm so sorry for your loss and pray the Lord wraps you in his arms in this time of tremendous grief.
