Peter LePre passed away peacefully the evening of September 23, 2018 at home. LePre, 84, was born in New Orleans and spent his youth in North Biloxi. He was a gifted musician and began playing the upright bass professionally at age 14. LePre was a US Navy veteran serving one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Navy Band and managed the Subic Bay Golf Course, Philippines. After retirement from the US Navy, he graduated from the Mississippi Gulf Coast Junior College with a degree in Hotel, Property, and Restaurant Management. He also attended the University of Southern Mississippi. For many years, he performed with well known bands along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and was often called a musician's musician. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #606, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2434. During his latter years he enjoyed and appreciated his friends at the Elks Lodge, Mary Mahoney's Restaurant, and golfing buddies.

LePre was preceded in death by his parents, Peter J LePre and Helen Lynn Davis LePre. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Rosina Fritz Feeney LePre, the love of his life; his sister, Helen LePre Wiltz; his nephew, Tommy Wiltz (Kathy); his nieces, Emily Wiltz DeLoach and Anna Wiltz Card (Bruce); and their families. Also, his extended family, Fred and Susan Feeney, Margaret and Doug Fish, Tom and Marsha Feeney, and Mary Beth and Andy Kelloms and their families and good friend Bishop Jackson C Biggers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity BVM Cathedral on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11 am. Friends may visit two hours prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
