Thorvald Testman Obituary

Biloxi, Mississippi - Thorvald "TJ" Jose Testman, age 74, passed away at his home in Biloxi, MS on April 7, 2021.
TJ was born in Pensacola, FL and attended USM, where he attained a Master's Degree. He was a civil servant, employed by the Veterans Administration. He retired as Chief, Human Resource Management from the Jackson, MS VA Hospital in 1999. TJ was an officer in the Army for six years and followed up with the Army National Guard. He retired from the Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel, and Battalion Commander in 1995. The last few years TJ has been involved with the Master Gardner's of Harrison County. At one point serving as President of the committee. He had a special butterfly garden at Hiller Park that was his pride and joy. TJ was a great handyman around the house. In his younger days he built a massive pole barn for his spouse's quarter horse. He and his son also built a beautiful patio for their home. Of course, you could always find him outdoors gardening. He had such an elaborate system for his plants. He would spend hours on end with those plants. TJ was a loving husband who always placed his family first as best he could. He loved his dogs Slade and Bleu and put up with their shenanigans every day. He also spoiled the ponies Buttercup and Butterscotch. They would whinny at him daily for a treat and of course he delivered.
TJ was predeceased by parents Thorvald John Testman and Mercedes Espolita Testman, and sister Jenny Stucki.
TJ is survived by his spouse of 37 years Cindy Leleaux Testman, sons Jeffrey Testman and Jason Leleaux, grandchildren Kaleb Testman, Isabelle Testman, Emma Testman, Kayla Leleaux and Cynthia Leleaux, sister-in-law Cathy Creel and many nieces and nephews. TJ will be leaving a large void in our family. His absence will be felt by many that have known him. We will meet again soon. Until that time, rest easy and enjoy your time with your heavenly family.
At a later date, small private family service will be held.

Cindy...I don’t know if you remember me, but my first permanent job at the VA was in the mailroom that you supervised . I worked with Tino and EJ, who have both passed on now, as well, I retired in 2015. I didn’t know you and TJ had moved back to Biloxi. I am so sorry to hear about TJ’s passing. They never quite leave us do they? Their memory lives on forever in our hearts!
