Carl Luck Obituary

Luck, Carl A., II, 87 years old, formerly of Leominster and Ft. Lauderdale, FL, died Friday, December 5, 2008 in HealthAlliance-Leominster Hospital. He is survived by his daughter Sally Ann Tonole Luck of Lunenburg; his son Carl A. Luck III and his wife Phyllis of Lunenburg; his sister Eileen Patterson of Reno, Nevada; 5 grandchildren: John R. Tonole of Hull, Pamela Tonole Johnston of Grafton, Richard David Tonole, Alexandra C. Luck and Phillip A. Luck all of Lunenburg and 7 great-grandchildren: Melissa J., Alex N, Samuel R, Jessica J. and Lillian B. Tonole and Olivia G. and Trevor C. Johnston. He was predeceased by his wife Selma "Sally" M. (David) Luck on November 11, 1991. Mr. Luck was born on February 14, 1921 in the Bronx, New York, son of Karl A. Luck born in Eisenach, Germany and Catherine (Moylan) Luck born in Portumna, Ireland and had lived in Leominster, then moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1967, before returning to this area a few years ago. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the 18th Infantry U.S. Army Air Force 1st Division, and 513th sqdn. 406 Fighter Bomber Group, of the United States Army. He served from July 1940 to Oct. 1945. Carl was co-owner of the former Beacon Furniture Store in Leominster for several years. In Fort Lauderdale FL, he was a travel agent with his wife Sally for Travel Partners. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Funeral services and burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, New England Chapter, 20 Walnut Street, Suite 318, Welleley, MA 02481. The Silas F.
