Catherine Pope Obituary

Catherine Pope died at Hospice Vitas on Sunday 1/5/14. She was born in Nutley New Jersey and moved to Ft Lauderdale in 1949. She was a wonderful mother to Lynette Pope Beal, Stephen Pope, and Melanie Pope Hertsock. There are five grandchildren: Lindsey Beal, Chad Beal, Ian Pope, Max Pope, and Lance Hertsock. Catherine and her husband Frank Pope built Pope Mayflower into a thriving business in the 1950's and 60's. She remained active in the Moving Business and Real Estate over her lifetime. She also worked at Holland America and enjoyed being a world traveler. As a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years she gave back to our community. Catherine was an avid Bridge Player and belonged to the Ft Lauderdale Bridge Club. It is with sadness that her family has to say goodbye to such a wonderful mom and grandma who we love very much. She made the most of her life and will be missed by her friends and family. A mass will be held for our mother on Sunday 1/19/14 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 7:00pm located at 1701 East Oakland Park Blvd. Ft Lauderdale, Fl.

We live in the Warwick with your Mom and will surely miss her warm smile and wonderful laugh. She was a very special lady and it is so hard to think that she is gone. May your many loving memories of her provide you with peace and comfort.
