The other members of the "Pros and Cons", the honors band that Dennis belonged to asked that their names be added to anything that I wrote for Dennis. They all send their love to Dennis and his family, especially to his Mom, Cathy. She was the one that Dennis talked about the most and when she sent the guitar to us, we all knew who sent it. Please believe, it was a very big deal to them. Each of these names represents a man who was a part of Dennis'day to day life at South Bay. Yes, they all made mistakes but for these guys, they were trying to change their lives and looked forward to their release date (if they had one)so they could return to their families and hopefully to a better life. So, to Dennis' family we loved your son, brother, father, friend or what he was to you. Signed, Pat Bloniarz, Montrail Cook, Bryan Edmundson (Bobo), Jody Geer, (Mean) Gene Green, Cyril Innis, Rahsaan Jackson, Sean Killian. Brad Knight, John Komonchak, Steve Kopson, Leon Mankner, Victor McCrae, Richard (Fat Mac) MxcIntyre, Jimmy Mohrle, Joe Myers, Larry (Shabazz) Page, Nicholas Stoumbelis, Warren Tarver, and Nathaniel Taylor. To Cathy, I pray this is not out of line. All of these guys wanted to be remembered to the family. They were all very close to Dennis. Had you been in one of our rehearsals, you would have thought you were in the music department of some college. Thanks, Michael Burns

From birth Denny has been a bright shining star - so charmismatic and lovable. Totally and completely adored by his grandparents (at times I was jealous) he could do no wrong. Many hours spent just enjoying him and Derek when they were younger - these all held special places in our heart. Sometimes you just never know how someone feels about you - Denny wrote the most beautiful and endearing letter to my husband shortly before he passed - the timing was perfect and the sentiment heartfelt. Denny will definitely be missed by those who loved him. Rest in peace - Aunt Cathy

Dennis....I hate that I wasnt able to attend anything in your honor, but unfortunately your so far away from me. Florida is a long way from Levittown. I have so many memories during my days as a young man, and your a part of so many of them. And of course some of them may be appropriate to write about on this tribute, but then again some arent appropriate to write about here....we will just leave those things between us! The days of when you and Derek lived in Goldenridge, the days we spent at Immaculate Conception and so many other things are forever etched into my memories and it will be impossible to remember those times without thinking of you as well. Your a good guy who would of done anything for anyone and your loyalty was unmatched. You were a good friend and I will remember you for the rest of my life. Rest easy old friend and if you can look over me in any kind of way, please help me out! I could use any kind of help I could get down here! Love and a ton of respect at ya pal. Until we meet again....

Dennis was in my music class at South Bay, Florida. His personality was like a bright light in a very dark room. He never allowed his surroundings to dictate his happiness. He sang and played percussion and even did some very good "rap" things. He never held anything back...he always gave it his everything whether he was singing the solo part or a harmony part. The last time we spoke, he told me he was now playing trumpet. I laughed out loud. I never knew he could play a horn. He said he couldn't but no one else had stepped up so he figured he would give it a try. I told him he was going to be great at it. He also played guitar. His wonderful mother bought one and sent it to us at South Bay. Dennis shared it with everyone. He also did that with his knowledge and his personality. If you needed it and Dennis had it, you knew he would share it with you. Of all my former students that I keep in touch with, I always looked forward to my wife saying, "It's DC for you". (DC was the name he went by in the honors band that he was part of.) Dennis was always "up"...full of life and couldn't wait to share his enthusiasm with you. I will miss him terribly. I guess God needed some help in His band. He got the best. Thanks for sharing your love of and enthusiasm for life with me, DC.......Michael Burns

I have been privileged in my 74 years to have had three men who were near and dear to me. Dennis was one.
Dennis possessed an unquenchable joy for life. He remained positive through all the challenges life presented. His thirst for knowledge and mastery in all his endeavors made him a true renaissance man.
His brilliant smile and the sparkle in his eyes, lit up his environs and endeared him to all who knew him.
He loved you, Cathy and Antoinette and Caitlin, with all his being. He was especially proud of you, Caitlin, and cherished every moment with you through your letters, phone conversations and visits. Every milestone you passed was recognized and he shared many of them with me.
I will miss him and will hold him evermore in my heart as an example of persevering and for seeing the good in this taste of life.
Cynthia, my wife, had a special place for him in her heart....who could resist his irrepressible charm?
Our condolences and prayers go out to you,
Pat and Cynthia Kean

I remember meeting Dennis on his way to a skiing trip. A smile as wide as a mountain with a heart to match. I hope in time his memory will bring only joy to all of you who are now in such pain.
