Graeme Gilmour, beloved husband to Alisia Gilmour, fun and loving dad to his four kids, and friend to so many, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 at the University of Miami hospital after a short battle with a very aggressive cancer. He was surrounded by his family and best friend. Graeme was born on May 13, 1969 in Perth, Scotland to Drew and Ella Gilmour. He grew up on dairy farms helping his dad look after herds of milk cows and calves. He attended University of Edinburgh graduating in 1991. Sometime after that, he went to America, found an old Cadillac and traveled through the States with friends doing odd jobs along the way. He spent some time in upstate New York volunteering as a firefighter and then decided to try out Florida. In 2005, he started working for Lighthouse Point Fire Department, that same year he met the love of his life and his future wife Alisia. After about a year, he was hired with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue where he eventually worked his way up to Special Operations Driver Operator, most recently with Station 19 in Jupiter, Florida. He welcomed his first daughter Elizabeth in 2012, which he always said was the most defining moment that changed his life forever. He married Alisia in 2013, then welcomed Callum later that year, then came Maren in 2017 and big surprise Archie in 2018. Graeme was the most loving dedicated husband and father (the fun parent by far), and the type of friend that few are lucky enough to find in life. He had a truly amazing sense of humor and he always brought so much fun and an abundance of laughter to every occasion. The Gilmour household was constantly filled with random outbursts of singing and dancing. He loved the beach, fishing, playing golf and football (soccer to some), summer trips to the DuBois Camp in New York, and his family most of all. He was so passionate about his kids, always so patient when it came time to teach them something, either sports or helping with homework. He taught them to be strong and tough, but also kind and humble. The level of devotion to always be the best version of himself was, and continues to be, an inspiration to all that knew him. Graeme will truly be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Graeme is survived by his wife Alisia, daughters, Elizabeth and Maren; sons, Callum and Archie; father, Andrew Gilmour; mother, Ella Gilmour; father in law, Jerry DuBois; mother in law, Becci DuBois; sister, Gill Ashmall; brother in laws, James Ashmall, Dustin DuBois, and Jacob Peters; sister in laws, Roxanne DuBois and April DuBois; niece, Chloe Ashmall and nephews, Jack Ashmall, Rex and Rome DuBois. A Celebration of Graeme's Life will be held on Friday July 16, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Journey Church, 6201 S. Military Trail, Lake Worth, FL 33463.
