Jerome G. Efros

Efros, Jerome G. (Jerry), beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle passed away peacefully on January 22, 2013. Jerry was born in Chicago on August 21, 1923, and spent the greater part of his youth in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from the then prestigious Erasmus Hall High School after which he was inducted into the military. Jerry was a proud World War II veteran. As a member of the 379th Bombardment Group of the U.S. 8th Air Force his 33 combat missions on board a B17; including "D Day," earned him a Distinguished Flying Cross, four Air Medals, two Battle Stars, a Presidential Unit Citation, and membership in the American Society of the French Legion of Honor. He received a degree in Business Administration from New York University. In 1971 Jerry, his wife and three daughters moved to Hollywood, FL, and he became the Southeastern Division Manager of a major industrial manufacturing and distribution corporation. In 1995 he began his second career as a member of the team at Transworld Business Brokers. He was a respected role model and mentor in business and in life. He made a positive impact on the lives of many. Jerry will be deeply missed by Audrey, his wife of 59 years; loving daughters, Susan (David Kraizgrun), Leslie (Jack Lupu), Abby (Adam Weingarten); grandchildren, Katelyn (Kraizgrun) Leibowitz, Jarred Kraizgrun, Samantha and Alexandra Lupu, and Zachary and Emily Weingarten; nieces, nephews; friends and associates. Services - Friday, January 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Temple Beth El, 1351 N 14th Ave., Hollywood, FL. Shiva - Saturday, January 26 at the home of Susan Kraizgrun - 2970 Luckie Road, Weston, FL.
