Paul,

My deepest sympathy to you. Don and I also shared 30 years together, so I know your road ahead will be a difficult one but, while hard to imagine now, you incorporate your loved one's soul within yourself, where it will stay forever. May peace and some silent moments alone provide you reflection on your many wonderful memories together. Trip was a fine man.

Trip had a lot of friends at Hawken School, a lot, and I'm pretty sure I write for all of us. Funny, irreverant, lively, full of bad ideas, Trip was the pepper in the rather bland stew that we made of ourselves. I once watched him rearrange the ceramic N-O-E-L on his mother's mantlepiece to spell L-E-O-N, saying, "It drives her nuts." A lovely man. Fondest farewell from your classmates, me first in line.
