My personal and professional relationship with Marcus goes back many, many years, as well as our times together. Whether it was doing Judo, Medicine or just having plain fun, he shall never be forgotten. Marcus was the always the best at whatever he did. He will always be remembered and may the good Lord use his talents in the great beyond as he did on this earth. Remember the Jazz. Love and Sympathy to Muriel and the family. We are saddened by the loss of Marcus. Both of us were close to him, and we learned much about the importance of friendship and mutual fun activities. He was a learned man, wise in science and antiquities as well as street-smarts. We have always had the highest respect for Marcus and will always remember him with love.

Dr. Zbar was a close family friend to my parents as I was growing up. I'm sorry that I hadn't seen him in many years, because I never got to tell him what a special influence he was in my life. I am an avid scuba diver and my desire for underwater adventures grew from his friendship (and from Jacques Cousteau, of course.) His slide shows, stories and artifacts he brought back from the exotic and distant seas around the world mesmerized me. I wanted to be just as adventurous, just as traveled. He inspires me to this day, each time I dive the local waters or dive the next locale on my long list of destinations. I'm sending these thoughts, and my very warm and heartfelt condolences to his family.

I grew up with Marcus in Tampa. Although we have not been in touch for many years I remember him, even as a child, having all the qualities set out in the obituary. I send my sympathy to his family in their loss of this good man.
