Robert Rozema Obituary

Rozema , Robert John, 72, died suddenly on November 27, 2006 at his home in Southpoint Condominiums. Bob has been nurturing the Galt Ocean Mile community for many years. His management of Southpoint Condominiums was legendary, and his civic accomplishments, such as giving direction to the Galt Ocean Mile Community Association, were well recognized. On the other hand, much of his hard work took place behind the scenes, ranging from the remarkable neighborhood upgrades that accompanied the Galt Mile Improvement Project, to the negotiation for a local emergency room when the Cleveland Clinic closed its doors. Prior to moving to Galt Ocean Mile in 1983, he was an active member of the community in Hawthorne, NJ. Robert is survived by his fiance, Marilyn Peters; children, Darlene Joy Scruggs, Robert John Rozema, Jr. and John Frank Rozema; sisters, Marjorie Unser and Kathleen Venema; grandchildren, Meghan Buselli, John Rozema, Mallory Rozema, Tim Rozema, Kyle Rozema, Ted Scruggs, Cora Scruggs, Dustin Albanese and stepson, Richard Albanese; and five nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1-2:00 PM Friday, December 1, 2006 with a 2:00 PM funeral service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 2020 South Andrews Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316-3430. Arrangements were made by:
