Toby Rappaport Obituary
Toby lived a life of service and will be sorely missed.
She grew up in Philadelphia, PA, graduating from Olney High School in 1953. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1985 from Temple University with a Master of Social Work Administration (MSW).
After retirement from the PA Dept of Public Assistance, she maintained a private practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Allentown, PA, until she moved to Florida, where she was a Social Worker at Hospice by the Sea in Palm Beach County.
She volunteered as an advisor for the B'nai Brith Youth Organization for several years, and was a member of the NASW, PSECU, and was a director on the Palm Greens Pulse Newsletter.
Toby was predeceased just four months by Julian Rappaport, her husband of 37 years.
She was also predeceased by her parents Rhoda and Erwin Moss, brother Eugene and sister Roslyn Moss. She was formerly married to Sidney Sherman and Melvin Brandt.
Survivors: Children Linda, Marc and Sondra Sherman. Grandchildren Sydney and Armance Sherman. Step-children Eric and Harris Rappaport.
Toby asked that she be remembered as someone who "tasted life in as many ways as she could and gave back more than she got."
A Memorial Service will take place on March 21, 2020 at 12pm, in the Clubhouse at Palm Greens, 5801 Via Delray Blvd, Delray Beach FL 33484
