Stephen Taylor Obituary

Stephen C.S. Taylor Stephen Christopher Smith Taylor, 20, a Florida State University student and a son and brother and a friend to many, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. EST Thursday at Unity of Tallahassee, 2850 Unity Lane. Bevis Funeral Home of Tallahassee (850- 385-2193) is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Unity of Tallahassee, College Ministry, 2850 Unity Lane, Tallahassee, FL 32303. He was an avid surfer, photographer and artist and was a free sprit and appreciated all beautiful things. He loved deeply, experienced the world passionately, and, at an early age, chose the words "embrace life" as an intention and guiding principle. He would want to remind us that "with every end is a new beginning." His love, life and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, in all he touched, in everything he created and in the gentle eyes of his beloved dog, Kayley. He is dearly loved and indescribably missed. He is survived by his parents, Brett and Karen Taylor, and his sister, Aimee Taylor (Amos). All are of St. Petersburg. A Web site, www.InHonor OfStephenChristopher.com will be online soon.

My family and I all fell in love with Chris as a little boy. He showed up on our doorstep one day with a pail and sponges in his hand. He gave us a shpeal about how him and his friend wanted something, and his parents said that if he wanted it he had to work for it. So he said he could do lawnwork, wash cars, do windows, ANYTHING we wanted done. He was very businesslike and grown up, and so serious, with his big green eyes looking up at you. Needless to say he got the job! He did a great job and we told him to keep coming back. Which he did throughout the years, and became best friends with my daughters, Christina, Cynthia and Courtney and pretty much became a part of the family. He was like a son to me and a brother to my girls. His parents would have been very proud of him and the way he was, I know that our family was proud and happy to have known him. He always had a way of making people feel special. I know he was great friends with Christina, helped Cynthia through some hard times, and even though Cortney was much younger he always had time for her and always treated her like one of the gang. We will never forget him, and will always love him and miss him, terribly. His family is in our prayers.

Our family was devastated to hear of your loss. Chris was such a cute kid that grew up into such a handsome young man. He could light up a room with his smile and his laughter. I know Chris is looking down upon his family from heaven, wanting to comfort you all from the pain you are going through right now. He loved his family so much! May God bless you all and protect you and know one day you will meet again.

I met Chris through a dear friend of mine a few years ago. The first night I met him , I will never forget. I remember he drove our friend and I around the beach with 80's music blaring through the speakers. It was such a fun night! We stopped for ice cream and walked on the beach for hours. I remember his stories about surfing and how he loved to draw. Even though I din't see him that often, he will definetly be in my heart and in my prayers.
