Thomas Wright Obituary
Tallahassee - Thomas Kent Wright, 83, passed away on August 8, 2021 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born November 1, 1937, in Tallahassee, Florida, the son of Robert Lee and Lockie Estelle (Vause) Wright.
Thomas graduated from Leon High School, Class of 1956. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army and retired from the Army Reserves. He attended Elizabeth Baptist Church in Monticello, Florida, where he lived since 1980. Thomas enjoyed the outdoors, playing softball, fishing, rooting for the Atlanta Braves, and was an avid FSU football fan.
He was predeceased by his cherished wife of 56 years, Jean Holland Wright, and is survived by son, Thomas Wright, Jr. (Alli), of Wakulla Station, FL; daughter, Susan McMullen (David), of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Thomas James Wright, David Lee McMullen, Jr. (Michala), Hannah McMullen, Cager Douglas Wright, Hunter Chapman (Victoria), Jacob Chapman, and Andrea Chapman; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 16, at Elizabeth Cemetery in Monticello, FL. Arrangements by Beggs Funeral Home, 485 E. Dogwood St., Monticello, FL.

I have appreciated Tom's friendship all these years across all these miles. When we were together it was always like we had never been apart. After Jean's passing we even became closer. Thank you Tom for your friendship and good conversations. R.T.

Tom was the best father-in-law a man can have. He had a great sense of humor. Cared deeply about his wife Jean, there two kids Tom and Susan and of course his grandchildren. He bragged on all his grandchildren quite often. We would talk about fishing, and of course FSU sports (football) in particular. He was just a down to earth guy who would give you the shirt off his back. I'm going to miss you Tom Sr. You were like a second father to me which I'm very grateful for. RIP Tom and we will see you on the other side.

I will never forget the love and support you gave us Dad. Daddy's little girl's heart is broken because I will never be able to laugh at your jokes or hear your stories told out loud again. I will always love you. Thank you for choosing me to be your daughter.
