Brian Ackerman Obituary

ACKERMAN, Brian E., passed away June 17, 2014 in Riverview, Florida; born July 7, 1967, the son of David E. and Helen Ackerman. Brian attended school in Cherry Valley NY; graduated class of 1985. Brian went on to attend US Air Force Schools from which he retired as Master Sargent. Brian married Holly Haig while in the service and became the proud father of his son Jonathon Ackerman. Jon's family, Tamara, Allison, and Jackson were the focus of his admiration. Brian then married Rosemary Alvarado who he found to be his soul mate and the love of his life of twenty years. Throughout his military career Brian and Rosemary lived in Panama, Portugal, Massachusetts, Ohio, Michigan, and then settled in Florida, where they made a beautiful home. Brian's passions were traveling to Panama and fun motorcycle trips with his wife Rosemary, NASCAR races with his brothers and father, and golfing with his buddies, very special trips to Cherry Valley to spend time with his family and friends, and hunting trips that will never be forgotten. Brian's sense of humor, kindness, and quick wittiness will be sadly missed. Brian was predeceased by his father David E. Ackerman on August 27, 2013. Brian is survived by his beautiful wife Rosemary Alvarado Ackerman of Riverview FL, and Rosemary's mother Nora and sisters Anita and Lourdes, his son Jonathon Ackerman, daughter-in-law Tamara, grandchildren Allison, and Jackson all of Cherry Valley NY, his mother Helen Yerdon (Roger) of West Winfield NY, brothers, David W. Ackerman, of Gloucester MA, and Kenneth J. Ackerman of Davenport NY and their families, many nieces and nephews whom Brian loved. Brian's services will be held at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home June 21, 2014, Saturday at 4:00 p.m. with one hour visitation prior to the service. Donations in Brian's honor may be made to the Wounded Warriors or any Disabled American Veterans organizations.

It is with deep sadness that I learn this news. Brian and I have so much in common. He was a co-worker when he was serving in the USAF reserve, he was a fellow motorcyclist and we have both served in Panama and have Panamanian wives. I wish I could have been there for you in your time of need. You friend Mike.
