Brian Moran Obituary

MORAN, Brian Ross was born Aug. 20, 1982 in Tryon, NC and left this world far too early on June 3, 2010. Brian will be forever remembered for his dedication to this country, his strong sense of family and his altruistic personality. Brian grew up in Fort Lauderdale and played soccer internationally during the summers. He loved his country deeply and served proudly in the Army's 82nd Airborne division. He cared for dogs, was an active member of the church, enjoyed golf, cooking and tinkering with anything that needed to be fixed. However, his deep passion was children. Brian had an easy nature and kind spirit, both of which were visible through the impact he left on the lives of the children he encountered. "Uncle" Brian made each child in his life feel special and each young person he contacted knew they instantly had a friend. Those young people who knew him will sorely mourn his passing. Brian is survived by parents, Kevin and Margaret Moran; sisters, Elizabeth Moran and Jennifer Wright; brother-in-law, Brandon Wright; nephew, Justice Wright and paternal grandmother, Joan Moran. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm Tuesday, June 8 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home 605 S. MacDill Ave. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 9 at 10:30 am at Bayside Community Church 3333 Bayshore Blvd. and he will be interred at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to 3 strand cord at 3strandcord.org or mailed to: 3 Strand Cord, P.O. Box 9691, Tampa, Fl 33674.
