Christopher Melton Obituary

MELTON, Christopher "Lil Chris N., 30, of Holiday, Fla., died Friday, December 22, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. He was born in Dunedin, Fla., but was raised and lived in Tarpon Springs until 2004, when he moved to Holiday. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a lifelong member of Mount Moriah African Methodist Episcopal Church, Tarpon Springs. He graduated from Tarpon Springs High School in 1995 and loved basketball. He is survived by his parents, Christopher and Gwendolyn Melton of Newport News, Va.; sons, Christopher N. Melton II and Tristan Melton, both of Clearwater, and Me-Arri Melton, St. Petersburg; daughters, Kristiana Melton of Clearwater and Me-Rasia Melton of St. Petersburg; brothers, Quinton Jones of Holiday; Joel Hardy, Calvin Wood and James Wood, all of Tarpon Springs, and Valdez Hardy of Tampa; sisters, Valerie Jones of Holiday, Karen Wood of Tarpon Springs and Kimba Melton of New Port Richey; paternal grandmother, Winifred Melton; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Dobies Funeral Home. (727) 942-0515. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Moriah African Methodist Episcopal Church. Burial will follow at Rose Cemetery, Tarpon Springs.
