Dorothy Snipes Obituary

SNIPES, Dorothy M., 82, of Tampa, was called home September 23, 2005, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Fitchburg, Mass., and has been a resident of Tampa for over 50 years. Dorothy was a registered nurse and a loving mother. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel O. Snipes formerly of Plant City, and founder of Snipes Funeral Home in Tampa. Mrs. Snipes is survived by her daughter, Merrily Cummins of Tampa; her brother, Robert Hermes of Charlotte N.C.; her granddaughter, Jennifer L. Cummins of Tampa; and her precious dog, Sugar. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday September 29, 2005, with the family receiving friends one hour prior, at Northgate Baptist Church, 1301 W. Linebaugh Avenue, Tampa, FL 33612. Internment will be for family only at Springhead Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Northgate Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Glass Funeral Home.

I have never known anyone quite like Dottie. She was so warm and kind and always a pleasure to be around. I feel blessed to have such nice memories of her and will miss her always.

Dottie Snipes was a wonderful person. She loved to be around people and was very caring and loving. I will miss her alot, she was always so very good to me.People we love are always in our memories... so never forgotten.
