Meyer, Frederick Francis

77, of Tampa, passed away on July 12, 2025 in Tampa, FL. Fred was born in Bellwood, IL to Catherine Furlong Meyer on February 28, 1948. He went to school at Oak Park River Forest High School. He married Diana Christine Worrell on November 27, 1970 in Chicago. He graduated from Eckerd College. He worked for more than 20 years with the City of Tampa's Community Redevelopment Agency helping low-income residents purchase their first homes. Fred is preceded in death by his mother, Catherine and daughter, Amy. Fred is survived by his wife, Diana Meyer; his son, Jeff Meyer; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Meyer; his grandson, Tyler Meyer; his brother, John Meyer; his sister-in-law, Cindy Meyer, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa, Florida 33614 on Monday, July 28, starting at 4 pm.

Fred was one of my first supervisors when I was hired on at the City of Tampa's Housing division. He was a kind and funny guy. I really enjoyed the 6 years that we worked together. He will be missed. RIP Fred Meyer.
