Giuseppe Rivellini Obituary

RIVELLINI, Dr. Giuseppe "Joe" Of Clearwater, passed away on May 18, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dr. Anna Maria Scoppetta; his three children Renee, Tommaso and Peter and 6 grandchildren. Dr. Rivellini was born in Vitulano, Italy and received his Medical Degree from the University of Rome. He came to America originally as a Fulbright scholar and returned to the U.S. to practice medicine at Belleview Hospital in NYC and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. He moved to Gouverneur, NY and worked as a radiologist for 20 years before retiring to Clearwater. Joe will be remembered as a Renaissance man who had a passion for art, music, mathematics, chemistry and history. His family and friends, like so many things he touched, his flowers, fruits and vegetables received special care and attention; each one its own experiment that was refined by his touch and wisdom. When people think of Joe, they will remember a man with a dream so strong that it propelled him from a tiny village in Italy, to the Universities of Rome, across the vast ocean to America where he forged his own path and laid a strong foundation for his future generations. They will recall a man and the journey that he took and they will find inspiration and comfort knowing that one can achieve a life so rich, if you are willing to dream the impossible. Funeral will be held 11 am, Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Hubbell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.
