Helen Abraham Ameen

AMEEN, Helen Abraham 81, of Belleair Bluffs, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Dec. 20th in Largo. Helen was born June 9, 1929 in Cleveland, OH and lived in Parma, OH until she began spending her winters in Florida. She was the daughter of Debe Geha and Assad E. Abraham. Helen was a devoted and dedicated housewife who was married to the love of her life, George "Omber" Ameen, for 33 years until he passed away in 1980. Helen was a beautiful mother to five children. Her daughter, Renee, predeceased her at the early age of 7 in 1965. She is survived by her three loving sons, Edward (Sylvia) Ameen of Clearwater, David (Vickie) Ameen of Orange Park, FL, and Kareem (Debbie) Ameen of Broadview Heights, OH, and her beautiful daughter, Lauren (Clovis) Hayek of Parma, OH. She had eight wonderful grandchildren, Alexander (Patricia) Ameen, Nicholas (Beth) Ameen, Stephen Hayek, Dominic Ameen, Jennifer (John) Lima, Lourice Ameen, Michelle Ameen and Christopher Ameen. She also had 5 beautiful great-grand-children. Helen is also survived by her brother, James (Ruth) Abraham of Sarasota and sister, Venice (Don) Michel, of Toledo, OH. Helen was a life member of The Order of St. Ignatius and Eastern Star of Cleveland, OH and a dedicated member of the church choir at St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Pinellas Park and St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Cleveland, OH. Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 27th, at Mallchok Funeral Home, 5660 Ridge Road, Parma, OH 44129. Hours: 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Services for Helen will be held Tuesday, Dec. 28th, at 11 am at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2587 West 14th Street, Cleveland, OH 44113 with interment at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery. The family wishes to express their appreciation and love to the many friends of the Abraham and Ameen families who cared so much and brought such joy into the life of Helen. She will be deeply missed.
