Leverock, Hubert G. "Cookie"

passed peacefully on July 11, 2025, at the age of 82 in St. Petersburg, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, father James Leverock and mother Margaret Leverock. He is survived by his sister, Pearl, and was preceded in death by his sister, Marguerite, and brother James. He leaves behind his beloved dog, Chevy, devoted father of Brian and Nicole; loving grandfather of Alexis, Joe, and Danielle, and a great-grandchild.

Cookie was born in Jamaica, Queens, NY, on August 6, 1942. Always one for adventure, Cookie moved to Florida as a teenager and never looked back. Cookie was a member of the Leverock family, a well-known name in the hospitality industry, which had its beginnings in Pinellas Park in 1948. His strong work ethic and dedication were hallmarks of a life well-lived. In the mid-1970s, Cookie opened Leverock's Towing & Transport in St. Petersburg, FL.

Cookie found joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love of the Florida lifestyle, including boating, stock car racing, seeing and making friends with everyone he met, and travel to his favorite getaway, where members of the Leverock family remain today, the island of Saba in the Caribbean.

Known for his playful sense of humor, Cookie was always one step ahead of everyone when it came to telling a joke and was always bringing laughter with his tales of growing up in Queens. He had a special way of making everyone feel loved and welcomed.

Above all, Cookie cherished his family and had an extraordinary heart. A wonderful father and grandfather, Cookie's greatest pride and joy was his family, whom he supported and loved unconditionally.

Cookie was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Cookie's life will be scheduled for a later date. The family will provide details once arrangements are confirmed.
