James Schwartz Obituary

SCHWARTZ, James H. "Jim" 70, formerly of Largo, passed away July 16th in Niskayuna, NY. Born May 27, 1938 in Ithaca, NY, Jim was the son of the late Colonel James P. and Marion H. Schwartz. He moved to Florida in 1954 with his family and graduated from Northeast High in 1956. He was a 1960 graduate of the Hotel and Restaurant Administration Program at Michigan State University. Jim was commissioned a second lieutenant through the ROTC program at MSU and served in the artillery program of the U.S. Army following graduation until 1962. Jim managed the Tom Sawyer Motor Inn in Albany, NY from 1964-1992. He retired to Florida in 1993 and resided in Palm Hill Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Susan, in 2003. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Margaret Cornish (Bill) of Saginaw, MI; one son, James Schwartz (Caroline) of Guilderland, NY; two sisters, Marjory Schwartz of Largo and Virginia Chambers (Bob) of Seminole; a brother-in-law David Ladd (Ann) of Cadillac, MI ; and six grandchildren, David, Matthew and Michael Cornish and Christopher, Andrea and Nicholas Schwartz. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10am-12pm with a service at 12, all at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. ALifeTribute Largo 559-7793
