James WHITTEN Obituary

WHITTEN, James A., 65, of Tampa, passed away on Dec. 06, 2012. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Audrey; daughter, Mary Cannon & husband, Garold; sons, Austin Whitten, Steve Vann & wife, Grace & Dennis Vann & wife, Sandy; siblings, Ed Gunning, Frank Whitten & Debra Whitten; stepmother, Yvonne "Jacki" Bowen; grandchildren, Taylor, Kayla, Jordan, Madeline, Abigail & Kyle; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Gunning-Shepherd; father, Frank A. Whitten; brothers, William Gunning & Frankie Whitten. As a native of Florida and member of The Tampa Crashers, a motorcycle enthusiast club, Jimmy loved the outdoors and meeting new people. He had many friends and will be dearly missed by all. Please join us for a Celebration of Life for Jimmy, Saturday, Dec 15th, at 12:00 noon, at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 W. Platt St, Tampa, FL 33606. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Jimmy to Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Open Arms Ministry for the Homeless.
