Kyle Ellis Obituary

ELLIS, Kyle Lynn 24, of St. Petersburg, died on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008. The family invites you to join them to commemorate Kyle's life this Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at Bethel Community Baptist Church located at 2901 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712. There will be a viewing at 12 noon, followed by a memorial service at 2 pm. Kyle was born in Atlantic City, NJ, on New Year's Day, 1984, but was raised primarily in Philadelphia, PA and Roanoke, VA. After graduating from William Fleming High School in Roanoke, VA in June, 2001, he moved with his mother and stepfather to St. Petersburg. Kyle was young and was still experimenting with finding his passions in life. Recently he worked as a counselor at a private methadone rehabilitation center. His last job was working as an auto body technician, a job that he felt allowed his artistic side to flower. During his free time Kyle embraced a penchant for creating music. Cherishing his memory are Kyle's two year old daughter, Jayda Ellis; his fiancée, Jarixa Colon, Jayda's mom. Saddened by his brief life are his mother, Karen Cobb; stepfather, Arthur Cobb and grandfather, Tommie Frye Sr.; his father, Kevin Ellis; grandmother, Shirley Ellis; uncles, Tommie Frye Jr., Anthony Reed and Mike Patterson; aunts, Joan Frye, Anita Reed and Bernice Moore; brothers, Kevin Watson, Jovah Figueroa, Brandon Still and Naeem Cobb; sisters, Brittney, Porscha and Mercedes Still; and cousins, Jamal and Hakim Al-Amin join other extended family members and friends in remembering the highlights of Kyle's short life. My heart goes out to the family and close friends. No matter what was going on with Kyle he always had a smile and joke behind that smile. He will be greatly missed!!! I will always remember his "silly" ways and that BIG smile of his.

I WANT TO SEND MY CONDOLENCES OUT TO KYLE'S FAMILY. KYLE WAS A VERY MEEK, HANDSOME, AND MILD MANNERED PERSON. AFTER BECOMING CO-WORKERS AT THE METHADONE CLINIC... WE BECAME GREAT FRIENDS. HE GOT ALONG WITH EVERYONE. IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I SAW HIM. THE VISION THAT COMES TO MIND IS WHEN HE AND THE OTHER COUNSELOR WAS JOKING AROUND IN THE OFFICE. HE HAD THE BIGGEST SMILE ON HIS FACE. AND NOW... HE CAN SMILE FOREVER. I WAS TOLD IN A TEXT MESSAGE FRIDAY NIGHT... MY HEART SUNK BECAUSE THIS MAN WAS A VERY YOUNG MAN... AND A VERY LOVING FATHER... UNFORTUNATELY... I MISSED MY CHANCE TO WISH HIM GOOD BYE AND EXTEND MY SUPPORT TO THE FAMILY. I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL NOW AFTER LOOKING UP HIS OBIT. THAT THE SERVICE WAS YESTERDAY. MAY GOD DWELL IN THE EMPTY SPACE THAT HAS BEEN LEFT IN HIS FAMILIES HEART FOREVER. MAY HE BLESS AND KEEP YOU ALL. YOU WILL BE MISSED. FAREWELL FRIEND.

To Kyle's family,
I was so sorry to hear of Kyle's passing. I worked with Kyle at the Methadone Clinic and he was a wonderful person. He was not only handsome but he had a magnetic smile which made you feel important.
He would bring his beautiful daughter in and show her off to all of the councilors and nurses. He was a good worker and a fine human being. I'm sure you were all very proud of him and what he had accomplished in his short life.
He was much too young to have to leave his loved ones.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.
Sincerely,
Beverly Partridge
