Ray Vehlber Obituary

VEHLBER, Ray Carl, passed away on April 13, 2003 at the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Ray is survived by his wife, June Vehlber; mother, Mrs. George Vehlber; numerous nieces and nephews and c ousins. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Brunswick High School. He attended Bowling Green College, before enlisting in the USAF where he served proudly for 20 years. During his service, he w as stationed in Germany, Greece, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and throughout the United States. He had received numerous medals including being awarded two purple hearts and the Distinguished Flying Cross. After his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Vehlber worked for Dillards Department Store. Chapel service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2003. Interment in Florida National Cem etery at 12:30 p.m. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 from 7-9 p.m. Contributions may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center.

Ray was a very wonderful, and true friend. I will miss him dearly. My prayers go out to his wife, and family.
