Happy Birthday Robert Clark. You meant the world to my Mom and Dad, Rev. W.C. & Margaret Wilson at that time we all attended First Institutional Missionary Baptist Church on Osceola Street here in Tallahassee, FL. You truly were an awesome man and you had talent beyond measure. I was young when you played for the church and I loved you. I know that you, Mom, Daddy and Rev. & Sister Cunningham are having a blast in Heaven.

Robert or Pee Wee as I affectionately called him was such a blessing to me and my son, Brian. His music was such an inspiration. And he had such a great sense of humor, no matter what he was going through. When I visited with him Thanksgiving 2010, he added such joy to the visit. My love and prayers to his immediate family.

Charlene,the wondeful memories of Robert bring me joy. His musical ability and friendly personality brought so much to our church service conducted by my late husband the Rev. Dr. John D. Thompson. His music helped to build the congregation at Zion Lutheran in Tampa, Fl
When there was no musician, Robert so graciously consented to serve. He meant so much to my husband and they were great friends. His sweet spirit is a joy in my memory of my stay in Florida His presence on earth is sorely missed.

Robert DeWayne Clark was born September 12, 1947 in Gadsden, Alabama. Robert moved to Sarasota Fla. at an early age and was raised by the mother Helen R. Clark, father Lee Clark and his beloved Grandmother the late Nellie Prater Johnson who affectionately nicknamed and called him “Pee Wee”.
Robert accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was united with True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, Sarasota Fl under the late Rev. Jesse E. McCrary, Sr.
Robert attended school in Sarasota County and graduated from Booker High School Class of 1965. He was a member of the Senior Chorus, The Booker High School Marching Band, Para-Medical Club and the Year Book Staff.
Robert continued his education by attending Florida Agricultural Mechanical University (FAMU), Tallahassee, Fl 1965-1969, he was a member of Pre-Medicine, Pre-Med Club, Biology Club, Chemistry Club, BSU and the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) who participated in and enjoyed the fellowship of the Christian church through worship, study and action.
Reaching for the sky Phi Nu Pi, Robert was initialed into the bond of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, KAU November 17, 1967 at 8:35pm where he was affectionately given the name of “Skipper”, Bells of Lee Hall.
Robert graduated from FAMU in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology/Chemistry and pursued a MD degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, Fl.
Robert professional experiences were Instructor/Teacher of Biology & Chemistry Coral Gables Senior High School, Coral Gables, Fl., Phlebotomist/Laboratory Technician/ Counselor Veterans Administration Hospital, Miami, Fl., Territorial Sales Representative Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company, Richmond, VA., Property Claims Adjustor Allstate Insurance Company, Richmond, VA., and Health Care Management for BlueCross/Blue Shield of Virginia, Richmond, Va., Jacksonville, Fl. and Tampa, Fl, Humana Health Plan, and Eckerd Drug Corporation, Tampa, Fl.
Robert loved to cook and used his culinary talent by preparing meals for his family and friends, no matter the cuisine he used his chemistry knowledge to decipher the ingredients and embellish the dish.
Robert had a passion for music was a gifted musician on piano, keyboard, organ and trumpet. Robert used his talent to minister the gospel through music and bless many as he played for numerous churches, organizations and events throughout Richmond, Va., Sarasota, Miami, Jacksonville and Tampa Fl.
Robert passed December 28, 2010, he leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife Charlene D. Griffin-Clark Land O’Lakes, Fl.; two sons Staff Sergeant (Army) Robert D. Clark II (Raneisha) Ft. Hood, Texas; Minister Brian Robert Hughes Clark (Shawntae) Tampa, Fl.; one daughter Leigh Ivory Clark Paradise, Esq. (Marc) Bear, Delaware; his parents Lee and Helen Johnson Clark, Sarasota, Fl.; one sister Neta Clark Houston (Jerome), Sarasota, Fl.; five grandchildren; maternal Aunt Ruby J. Byrd, Bradenton, Fl. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

I met Robert in 1969 as a pledgee of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at FAMU.
Skipper, as he known then was our Dean of Pledgees. Our line the 23 Saints sang at his church in Tallahasse performing the song " I Come To Praise His Name " while Skipper accompanied us on organ. Just one of

Even though one relationship didn't work out for us, Robert and I were determined to have a relationship. So we did the next best thing and became friends, along with being family still.
