James Edward "Jim" Pfleger

James "Jim" Edward Pfleger, 70, died May 2, 2009, at his home. He was born in Chicago, and lived in Highlands County for 11 years. Before retirement, he was employed by the Johns-Manville Corp. for 25 years. He graduated from St. Mary's School in Miami, Miami Edison High School and Palm Beach Junior College. He was attending University of Miami when he was hired by Johns-Manville Corp. as a sales representative in their air handling division. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Linda Pfleger of Lorida; brothers, Henry J. "Jack" Pfleger, Thomas J. Pfleger of Boca Raton and Richard E. Pfleger of Atlanta; and sister, Mary Pfleger Graves of Vero Beach. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 4418 Sun-N-Lake Blvd., Sebring, FL 33872. SERVICES: A memorial service and Mass will be celebrated at the Buxton Funeral Home Chapel in Okeechobee at 11 a.m. May 7, with the Rev. Lorenzo Gonzalez officiating.
