Robert Nash Obituary

Robert Charles Nash

Palm City, FL

Robert Charles Nash left to be with his Heavenly Father on June 17, 2016. He was 87.

He was born in Nyack, NY on March 1, 1929 and lived there until he left for the Army in 1948. He served in the Korean War and was awarded the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. Following his military service he moved from New York to Miami, FL. He went to work for Eastern Airlines where he met the love of his life, Mary Lou.

After 12 years with Eastern Airlines he began a career in the up and coming computer industry and went to work with Sperry-Univac. With Univac, he and his family had the opportunity to live in Copenhagen, Denmark and Ontario, Canada before returning to Hollywood, Florida where they raised their three daughters. He retired from Univac at the age of 60. In retirement, Bob and Mary Lou relocated to Palm City, FL where they were members of St Mary's Episcopal Church. He enjoyed computers, reading, swimming, traveling, and classical music. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his beloved wife Mary Lou; they had just celebrated their 59 year anniversary.

He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Nash, his three daughters Bonnie Nash Bawel (Paul), Suzanne Nash Sutherland (Jim), and Jenny Nash Humbert (Bill), and his three grandsons Michael Nash Bawel, Thomas Andrew Bawel, and Eric James Sutherland. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Treasure Coast Hospice House. Funeral arrangements to follow.

Dear Nash Family,
I first met Mr. Nash in the summer of 1980. He was a confident and pleasant man. He displayed service medals with pride and honor. He was a true American soldier and a war hero. It was a pleasure to have known him and be in his presence. I knew that if I was around, it was because he approve of me and that's all that mattered. RIP Mr. Nash. Yes, Mr. Nash was all that I ever called him. He had my respect and always will.
