Dan M. Browne
Oct. 9, 1946 - Jan. 29, 2022
Dan M. Browne, 75, died at home on Jan. 29, 2022 in Longview. He joined the Naval Reserve while attending Kelso High and upon graduation in 1965 went on active duty. He served on the USS Preble during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Bronze Star. After his service he became a journeyman electrician, working for Weyerhaeuser in Longview; Martin Marietta in Goldendale WA and finishing his career with over 30 years at St. John's Hospital in Longview.
Dan was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved fishing. His idea of a perfect vacation was spending two weeks in his boat or on the banks of the Columbia "steelheading". He caught plenty using his handmade spin-glo's.
Dan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dezi, sister Roxy Wanderer (Steve), brothers Larry, Jon (Jackie) and Terry (Beth).
He was preceded in death by his son, Nathan and his parents John and Joan.
Dan was a Christian who truly lived by the standards of this faith and was well liked and respected by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed.
A celebration of Dan's life will be held at a future date.

Dan was such a sweet gentle man, who loved his family and friends deeply. I remember how generous he was to Larry and I when we were first married, and how his sense of humor always made me smile. Healing prayers to Dezi and his family.

Dan was a wonderful co-worker and truly a professional who took pride in his work. Our time shared at breaks gave me some of my best memories of working at Peace Health. I am sad to see this loss for his family and his community. Dick Veazie

Dezi, so sad to hear of your loss. Praise the Lord for our hope beyond the veil of this life! Jesus has conquered sun and death and opened the way for us to enter paradise. Absent from these bodies is indeed to be in His Presence, better by far. Grace to you. God is good-so loving and kind. May you be comforted by our "God of all comfort."
