Aaron Gray Obituary

Aaron Steven Gray, 6, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 after a courageous 5 year battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his parents, Pamela A. (Wilkman) Gray and Steven D. Gray and his beloved younger sister, Stephanie (Sissy) J. Gray, all of West Boylston. He also leaves his paternal grandparents, Lois and Donald Gray of Sterling and his maternal grandfather, Robert K. Smith of Holden. Aaron has an extensive extended family as well that will miss him dearly!

Aaron was a kindergarten student at Major Edwards Elementary School in West Boylston, where he also attended pre-school. He absolutely loved school and had many friends, students and faculty both. Aaron loved camp. He could often be seen riding a hay ride or on the swings at Jellystone Park in Sturbridge. He had many friends, there as well. Aaron will always be remembered for his beautiful smile that could light up a room and his quick wit.

A Memorial Mass and a Celebration of Life will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Aaron may be made to the UMASS Memorial Foundation/Children's Medical Center, memo to Outpatient Pedi Oncology/Aaron Gray, 55 Lake Ave., North, Worcester, 01655. Thank you for sharing that wonderful little boy with us at Major Edwards Elementary School. You know how much he meant to me and how much I loved him. I have never know anyone like Aaron and my life was all the more richer for it. He was such a special little boy and it went above and beyond his illness. I will always treasure the time I got to spend with him and I will never forget the big smile, hugs and kisses (and raspberries!) that greeted me every morning. I miss him terribly but take some solace in the fact that he is playing on the playground with his angel friends, happy and pain free. I am here for you all and I promise to take good care of Sissy now as well.

All my love..........Penny

God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be.
So he wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, “come to me”.

You didn't deserve what you went through, so he gave you rest.

God's garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best.
And when everyone saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain

we could not wish you back to suffer that again.

RIP Aaron, you will forever be in all our hearts little guy!! xoxo

December 9, 2011

Pam and Steve, I am so sorry for your loss of your beautiful son Aaron. Words can't begin to describe how I felt when I heard the news. He was a very strong and courageous little kid. You two should be very proud of how hard he fought and how hard you two as parents worked to give him a loving and caring home. Steve you once told me that all you wanted to do was to let him be a kid and enjoy what kids do. You guys accomplished that and more. These words can't even begin to comfort you in this time of sorrow, but just remember you will always have a little angel looking over you and your family. If there is anything that I can do for you ,please do not hesitate to call. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

never forgotton, always loved, a little angel

Judy Corbett

December 9, 2011

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Pam and Steve,

There are no words that we can say that will make you feel better. All we can say is that we are so sorry. Aaron was such a happy little boy, and that was because of your love for him. He was able to do the things that little boys should do, and that was because of you. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Remember - Love Never Dies

To all of Aaron's family,

In My Pocket
**************
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry
wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts
of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am
alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like
so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have,it's the
memories of you that are the most precious.

When you are feeling lonely, without Aaron around the house, read this, and remember that love never dies!!! Aaron is with you all, every second of everyday. You have a guardian angel now!!! You are all in my prayers & thoughts!!!

Pam,Steve & Steph,
There are no words, may gods grace be with you, losing a child is something no parent should go through, Aaron was so blessed to have such amazing strong parents, we all know where he learned to fight <3 you held his hand and gave him his wings to fly, although your angel was given his wings far too soon, may he fly free and make heaven his playground <3 I hope the three of you find peace in knowing his struggle is over and embrace the beautiful life you gave him, my prayers and thoughts are with you always, and I pray the beautiful memories you have help you overcome this pain. Much love, Catherine
