Anthony Lanava Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Lanava

Auburn - Anthony D. "Tony" Lanava, 65, of Auburn a beloved, husband, father and brother passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 1st, 2021.

Tony was born in Worcester, the oldest of two sons of Danato "Al" and Algerd "Al" (Lamanuzzi) Lanava. Raised in the Lakeview neighborhood of Worcester on Locust Ave, Anthony graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and attended Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. He began his career with Sprague Electric, remaining through the merger of Allegro Micro Systems for a total of thirty-eight years. Upon the Allegro plant closure, Tony, not ready to retire accepted a position with AMS Intel, and then Macom Corporation in Lowell until retiring in 2019. Tony currently worked part time for Bouchard's Acura which he loved. In August of 1978, Tony married the "Love of His Life, Karen L. Ingram spending the next 42 years devoted to each other, and family. They have lived in Auburn since 1990.

Anthony is survived by his beloved wife Karen; his two best friends, his son, Matthew Lanava, and his wife Kim; his brother Santo whom he talked to daily for hours, and his wife Pamela; many cousins, extended family members, coworkers, and friends whom he loved and who loved him back.

Tony was a member of St Joseph's Church in Auburn attending mass weekly. He loved sports, especially bowling in several leagues over the years at Auburn Ten-pin. He also loved watching Matthew play golf, the Yankees and the New England Patriots of which he was a season ticket holder since 1999. Tony and Matthew notably traveled frequently to different football and baseball stadiums, the highlight was obtaining opening day tickets to the famed Lambeau field Stadium and the Patriots Superbowl in Indianapolis. Tony also loved traveling with Karen, they traveled to many destinations around the world including cruises. He was a family man with a huge heart, bright smile, and great sense of humor. His greatest moments were those spent with Karen, his trips with Matthew, phone calls with Santo, family cookouts and their home in Boynton Beach where one could find Tony on the beach relaxing and enjoying the sun, sand, and ocean.

Dear Karen, Matt, Santo, and the entire Lanava family;

I was so saddened to hear of Tony's passing, he was like a brother to me. I have known him almost my entire life. Many memories at my mom's house with him and Jack! When I was little I remember punching him in the stomach every time I saw him, but as I grew older he didn't like it as much. He was a great guy. Always smiling and laughing. He will be missed in our famiy. R.I.P my friend. Love you forever!
