Carol Lapointe Obituary

Carol A. LaPointe, 77

Barnstable - Carol A. (Christian) LaPointe, 77, died on Sunday, April 30, 2017, surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves her devoted husband of 57 years, William K. LaPointe; three sons, Kevin W. and his wife Kathryn of Pittsfield, Peter F. and his wife Stephanie of Stamford, CT, Christopher B. and his wife Dalene of Hamilton; two daughters, Gayle P. Teixeira and her husband Bruce of Grafton, Diane M. Lovett and her husband Joseph of Groveland; thirteen grandchildren, Justin, Jamie, Hannah, Karl, Susannah, Gabrielle, Alden, and Wilder LaPointe, Andrew and his wife Meagan, Eric, and Emily Teixeira, Sean and Jennifer Lovett; one sister, Barbara T. Gasco and her husband Alfred; many nieces and nephews; and her dear dog, Duke. She was predeceased by her parents, A. Francis Christian and Marion F. (Joslin) Christian Vayo Bielik; a brother, Francis H. Christian; a sister Marjorie C. Perras; and a grandson, Baker C. LaPointe.

Mrs. LaPointe was born January 20, 1940, in South Grafton. She was raised there and graduated from Grafton High School. After marrying in 1959, she and her husband raised their children in Grafton. Carol was a longtime parishioner of St. Philip's Parish. For more than 25 years, Mrs. LaPointe worked at Washington Mills Abrasives Co. in North Grafton. In 2000, Carol and William moved to Sandwich, and shortly after to Barnstable. Carol was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Chapel, West Barnstable.

Mrs. LaPointe's greatest joy was her family, and she was a wonderful role model for her grandchildren. She taught by example, and showed them the true strength of God, love, and family. She treated everyone with respect and kindness.

Carol and William enjoyed their years living on Cape Cod and hosting family gatherings there. They loved to travel, and would spontaneously jump in the car, off to explore New England. Lasting memories were made on the trips they took with their children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to UMass Medical School, Office of Advancement, 333 South Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.

All are invited to calling hours Friday, May 5th from 4 to 7 pm at The Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton MA 01536. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 6th at 11 am in St. Philip's Catholic Church, 12 West St., Grafton. All attending Saturday are respectfully asked to meet directly at the church.
