Christine O'Connor Obituary

Christine M. (Jaworski) O'Connor, 72

UXBRIDGE - Christine Marie (Jaworski) O'Connor, 72, of Uxbridge, passed away May 22nd surrounded by her family. She leaves her best friend and husband of 53 years, Francis (Frank) O'Connor, and four children, Lynn Barrette and partner, Joe Phelan of Worcester; Cynthia Ciavarra and her husband, Lou of Sutton; Caryn O'Connor and her partner, Mike Holden of Auburn and Matt O'Connor and wife, Tracy of Studio City, CA; seven grandchildren, Michaela and Kevin (Buzz) Barrette; Joey, Sam and his wife, Kelly and Casey Fiore; Molly Christina O'Connor; and Eden O'Connor. She also leaves her sister, Joann Quinn; a brother, Paul Jaworski and his wonderful wife, Gerrie. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Florence (Stomski) Jaworski and her sister, Mary Sullivan.

Chris and Frank married in 1961; however their romance began years earlier, growing up in the Four Corners neighborhood of Worcester. They were bound together for life by unconditional love for each other and their children. She was a graduate of South High in Worcester and held several part-time jobs over the years, but her priority always was raising her children. She made sure Sundays were always family days, with home cooked meals around the kitchen table. She was a young grandmother, as she wished, and devoted her time to babysitting her grandchildren when they were small, and attending their various activities as they grew. She treasured watching her grandchildren grow into wonderful people, like their parents.

Chris had many passions in life, including the ocean, word games, Moody Blues concerts, Regis and Kathy Lee, Broadway musicals, summer vacations in Wells, ME, and animals, especially her beloved Boston Terrier, Lucy; but her truest joy was found in the happy times and close relationships she shared with Frank and their children and grandchildren. Whip-smart and quick with a quip, Chris had wicked sense of humor and a special and unique manner of providing humorous entertainment for her kids and grandkids. She especially loved dancing and telling funny stories, often with a glass of chardonnay in hand. Chris loved family time. Her beautiful smile, laughter and funny commentary during these times will be sorely missed. Her love lives on in the memories she created and the family she loved.

The family would like to express thanks to everyone at Beaumont in Northbridge. Their care and concern during Chris' last days provided the entire family comfort. They also wish to thank Sue Burgess from VNA, and Barbara Deluca from Salmon Hospice.

Her funeral is Friday, May 29th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours will be held, Thursday, May 28th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
