Doris Piscitelli Obituary
WORCESTER - Doris Piscitelli, 83, of Worcester, died Sunday, February 1, 2015 after an illness.
Doris leaves five children, Phyllis A. Piscitelli of North Oxford, Felix J. Piscitelli Jr. and his wife Debra of Charlton, Gerard Piscitelli of Uxbridge, David P. Piscitelli and his wife Gee of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, and Maria Durant and her husband Keith of Oxford; 13 grandchildren, Jillian Burdett and her husband Jason, Amanda Cardin and her husband Adam, Christopher Kowal, Allison and Matthew Piscitelli, Celina Viens, Olivia and Isabella Piscitelli, Jake, Ben and Nick Piscitelli, and Kyle and Kelsey Durant; two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Natalie Burdett; two sisters, Shirley Covington of Worcester and Ellie Sbrogna of Sturbridge; a brother Michael John of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris always cherished the memory of her son Michael Francis, who died February 4, 1959, and her daughter Kathleen Marie, who died January 31, 1965. She was also predeceased by her brothers Richard John and Thomas Hutchinson.
Doris was born in Des Moines, Iowa. She was raised by her parents Michael and Eleanor (Flynn) John. She was also the daughter of Roscoe Hutchinson.
Doris attended Commerce High School in Worcester. She worked in the offices of the Worcester Dept. of Public Works for 23 years.
Doris was an active member and volunteer at Immaculate Conception Parish.
Doris enjoyed cooking for and sharing meals with her family and friends. She was an accomplished crocheter. Most importantly, she was selflessly devoted to her family and her church.
The Piscitelli family wishes to thank the Jewish Health Care Center as well as JHC Home Care for the skilled and compassionate care they provided Doris.
The funeral Mass will be Thursday, February 5, at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Dear Phyllis, Maria, Felix, Gerard and David. Im So sorry for your loss, your Mom, Our Auntie Doris. I have such warm memories of her. Although she isn't here in the physical she is very much alive with Our Heavenly Father , and watching over you all. We will see her again with all our family that has gone ahead of us. I am sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs. Piscitelli was a huge part of growing up in the North end on the Hill. I have shared her memory with my children so she will live on in the next generation. We have another Immaculate conception Angel looking down on us.
