Francis Benoit Obituary

Francis X. Benoit, 55, of Caribou, ME, formerly of Melbourne, FL and Westborough, died on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at the East Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME. He was the husband of Karole (Whitney) Benoit.

Born in Framingham, he is the son of Mary V. (Malloy) Benoit of Westborough and the late Donald A. Benoit. He was educated in Westborough schools and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School.

During the Vietnam Era he served with the U.S. Army.

Mr. Benoit was employed as a rigger for the Kennedy Space Center in Florida prior to moving to Maine two years ago. In earlier years, he was employed as a truck driver for Overnite Express.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by two brothers, Charles Benoit of Brasher Falls, NY and Vincent Benoit of Hopkinton; three sisters, Sheila Wenc of The Villages, FL, Donna Perry of Westborough and Paula Hogan of Northborough. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a great grand niece.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 10 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery. Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Sunday, March 9, from 2 to 5 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.

I'm so sorry to hear about Franny. I hadn't seen him in years but we had some good times in Westboro during the high school years. I didn't know he was living in Maine. My sympathy to all his family.
