Francis McDermott Obituary

Francis McDermott of Huntington, N.Y. passed away Jan 24, 2010, at the age of 76 yrs. He was born in Worcester, MA, and attended Commerce High School and Northeastern Univ. Frank had a 30 yr. career as an electrical engineer at Grumman Aerospace on Long Island.

He was predeceased by wife, Betty (nee Rivard), of 35 yrs. and will be sadly missed by companion, Dottie Wafer of Ridge, NY, and family: Keith and Marianna McDermott of Huntington, NY; Kathy Keegan and Gary Johnson of Basking Ridge, NJ; Elaine and Leo Sandmann of Georgetown, IN; Diane and Gianfranco Capasso of Fairfield, CT; and Stephen and Mary McDermott of Cleveland Heights, OH. Frank leaves behind eight loving grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's in Huntington on Jan. 29th, at 10.45 a.m with burial in E. Brookfield, MA.

To the entire McDermott family; I am so very sorry to hear of "Uncle Frank's" passing. I was young but do have fond memories of going to New York and visiting Uncle Frank, Aunt Betty & your family. You may not remember, but I do, and we all had such fun. I also remember your family visiting us in Auburn MA also. My Dad always had great funny stories about times spent together. And I myself, rememeber both your parents, big warm smiles. May wonderful lifetime memories ease your pain at this time. Thinking of you. I was sorry to read that Cousin Frank passed away. My mother and father always spoke so highly of Betty and Frank throughout the years sharing the stories of their children from the christenings to the weddings.
