Michael Naples Obituary
LEICESTER - Michael Naples, 46, of Leicester, died peacefully Sunday, July 1, 2012 in the UMASS Medical Center University Campus surrounded by his loving family. Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Kim M. (Greenslit) Naples; two fantastic sons, Nicholas M. and Matthew A. Naples both at home; his dedicated and loving parents, Angelo and Nina (Capurso) Naples; a wonderful brother, Mark Naples and his wife Angela; a step-sister, Linda Sharon; his mother-in-law, Joyce Seamen and her husband Bruce; several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, and cousins.
Michael was born in Worcester and was raised in Jefferson. He was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, and attended Worcester State College, and the Correctional Officer Academy where he took many courses in Law Enforcment. Michael was a Sgt. for the Worcester County Sherrifs Department for many years and was still employed there at the time of his passing. He was also a Funeral Assistant at the Manzi Funeral Home for many years, and also worked in the Construction Industry.
Michael was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, he was a member of the Laborers Union #243, and the Local PBA #911. Mike was a great fan of Baseball and Football and coached his sons teams for many years. Michael loved to be in his Garden and doing landscape around his house. Although his most treasured times were those spent with his family especially his sons! Michael was the consummate father. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Michael's family would like to give a special thanks to Tom Serafin and Joel Massa for all their loving and dedicated concerns for their dear friend Michael, during his battle with cancer. The family will be forever grateful.
Mike's funeral will be held Saturday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantations St., with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann, 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 4PM to 8PM on Friday. Friends attending the funeral are asked to go directly to Church. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made out to the Kim Naples Educational Trust for Nicholas and Matthew, c/o Peoples United Bank, 4 Mower St., Worcester, MA 01609.

Mr. & Mrs. Naples, Mark, and family- I am so sad over your loss...everyones loss. I graduated hs with Mike and still recall all the funny times hanging out with him. I am so sorry for your loss. Kim, you,Mike and I shared alot of time together, alot of laughs and even tears. I met Mr. Naples in 2008 when he was on duty at SVH with an inmate with a very serious medical condition. Mr. Naples had compassion for the patient and treated him with respect. I will always remember that.

Our deepest condolences go out to your entire family. David and I graduated WRHS with Mike, and David and Mike grew up on North street together, ate at each other's houses, and vacationed together. David has so many fond memories of his adolescent years with Mike (probably not Nina and Angelo, though, because David was usually the troublemaker..). Even though David and Mike went in different directions after high school, our family has had the privilege of living next to Angelo and Nina for the last 18 years, who have always been like parents to us and grandparents to our children. I remember Mike and Mark from our days at Worcester State College and being' gym rats' at the local gyms. I saw Mike's obit and was simply STUNNED! To the Naples family ... rest assured, Mike is in a far better place and will be watching over his wife and children. Truly a gentleman if there ever was one...

I don't know that family, but I knew Mike while when I worked at Saint Vincent Hospital back in High School. He was the nicest guy ever, everytime he brought the inmates in. He was funny and loved his family. My deepest condolences to his family.
